Beth Mooney will replace Jodie Fields, who is recovering from illness and a finger injury, in the Australia women’s squad
The ICC has confirmed that the Event Technical Committee of the ICC World Twenty20 Bangladesh 2014 has approved Beth Mooney as a replacement player for Jodie Fields in the Australia women’s squad for the tournament that will start in Sylhet on 23 March.
Jodie is recovering from illness and a finger injury.
Beth, a 20-year-old from Queensland, is a wicketkeeper who is yet to make her international debut for Australia.
The replacement of a player requires the approval of the Event Technical Committee before the replacement player can be officially added to the squad.
The Event Technical Committee of the ICC World Twenty20 Bangladesh 2014 consists of Geoff Allardice (ICC, chairman), Campbell Jamieson (IDI representative), Mahbubul Anam BCB Director), Khaled Mahmud Sujan (BCB Director and former captain), Russel Arnold – (independent nominee) and Pommie Mbangwa (independent nominee).
